Zen & Zones
The reception area that combine gentle lighting inspired by candles with playing-card details to provide a softer and warner welcome into the space.
The lounge and bar space focuses on low lighting and neutral tones throughout to create a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere rarely found in the area.
The club space is divided into private spheres by balancing individuals booths around the communal open dance floor. Bright yet dark, detailed yet simple - zone 3 was designed to be the balance between zone 1 & 2, creating a rhythm and flow from entrance to dance floor.
Spaces & Senses
Zone 1 (sight)
As visitors make their way from our dark entrance into a reception area illuminated by 100 floating cylinders muted by the black glass walls.
Zone 2 (Touch + Taste)
A range of materials were used to isolate the atmosphere of each table whilst integrating them into the wider lounge area. The finish and tones of the materials reflect the delicate and subtle nature of the flavours and ingredients used at the venue.
Zone 3 (Sound + Smell)
The focus of the club space was the central Dj both around which the dance floor and scating were arranged to ensure the optimum dispersion of sound and smoke
Semiotics & Sensations
Inspired by the world of playing-cards, symbols (Spades, Hearts, Clubs, Diamonds) and icongraphy (King, Queen, Jack, Jocker, Crown) were used to create a design language that was consistent throughout all 3 zones - imbuing visitors with a sense of an overaall. The bar & lounge area features 300 bottles that have been programmed to illuminate in unison and in time with the music being played. Together, they create a giant wave that envelopes the visitors, reflecting the sensations of our menu and the visual impact of our design
From the composition and presence of each symbol integrated within the inherent materials f the space, to the handling of proportions and the effects of light, this results in a complete sensorial impact for visitor and transformation of space for venue. From the outset, we set out to create a new type of venue that created memories through materiality and emotion through experience in a confined space - so that ultimately, the poetics of the atmosphere enables visitors to understand and experience what really matters in the moment
